Stella necklace

This assembly isn't very complicated, you'll just need a bit of patience to thread all those little beads... But the result is well worth the effort!

You will need :

Faceted beads in natural stone
0.35mm silk thread
Star beads
3mm rings
From the chain
A drop-set pendant
The extension chain
A clasp
beads to crush

Assembly:

Here we've made a 45cm necklace (without the extension that will allow you to adjust it). We wanted the necklace to be worn close to the neck, but not too tight to emphasise the suppleness of the fall. You can adjust the size to suit your taste by reducing the length of the chains, or reducing the number of beads.

To begin, cut 2 pieces of chain, each 10cm long. It's on these chains that we're going to connect the bead threading.

Unwind your silk thread then thread a pearl to be crushed, pass the needle through the link in the chain then pass through the pearl again. Crush it as close as possible to the chain with flat-nose pliers.

To secure the hook, tie two knots at the edge of the bead to be crushed. Tighten well and then cut the thread that protrudes over the edge of the knots.

Start threading...

String 12 small beads, trying to take 3 by 3 to make assembly easier.

Alternate with a star bead and then start again with 12 new beads. Continue in this way until you have placed 9 series of 12 beads with the star beads.

Finish with a star pearl.

Now thread a squeeze bead through the chain link. Pass back through the bead to be crushed, then pull on the thread to tighten the threading.

Before crushing the bead to be crushed, be sure to leave the stringing flexible but without any gaps between the beads. Your assembly should remain fluid without rigidity.

Then crush the pearl and tie two tight knots at the edges. Trim the excess thread.

In the centre of the pearl stringing, place the pendant set with a 3mm ring.

To finish, place the extension chain (3cm) with a 3mm ring on one side of the chain and the carabiner on the other.
