Ring & chain compatibilities — the right combo

Ring & chain compatibilities — the right combo

  • Diameter: choose a ring with a diameter compatible with the thickness of the link + the element to pass through (the pendant) for smooth movement.
  • Ring wire thickness: Check the hole of the pendant (mentioned in the product sheet).

Tips

Tips

  • Which ring for which chain?

Fine chains: ring thickness about 0.5–0.8 mm
Medium chains: about 0.8–1.0 mm
Strong chains/heavy pendants: 1.0–1.2 mm

  • Shape: an oval ring keeps the pendant facing forward. This type of ring is also recommended for clasp/chain connections because the ring does not rotate, the opening is always placed to the side. More durability!
  • Orientation: if the pendant “twists” and does not sit correctly, use two rings to realign.
  • Finishes & materials: harmonize color & shine (24K gold/double gold plated/925 silver/stainless steel).
  • Pendant hole tip: hole too narrow? Pass through a mini ring 3–4 mm before the main ring.

Quick rule: for a harmonious necklace, ring just slightly wider than the link, for a statement look, thicker ring embraced.
