This creation is very easy to make, so we're going to make a coloured cord by mixing different threads. You'll see that this is a very simple weaving technique that will allow you to change colours very easily and create a unique and totally personalised cord.

Here we're going to make a 4mm diameter cord, so take 8 cords of 0.5mm diameter. Play with contrasts or create a beautiful gradation of solid colours.

To start, cut 8 threads of about 1.5 metres each, then tie a simple knot with all the cords at the end. This will lock the threads together and hide the knot in the end cap. 

Now start weaving.

Take a coloured wire (here the blue wire is used as an example) and pass it under the other threads.

Then pass the blue wire over the others and through the loop created.

The blue wire traps the 7 other threads.

Still using this method, continue knotting in the same direction. This will create a spiral knot.

When you want to change thread colour, bring the previous thread back to the centre with the other threads, then pull the coloured thread outwards. Repeat the knots in the same direction. It's so easy!

Be careful to tie the knots tightly, especially when changing colour!

Continue assembling until you reach the desired length. For a choker necklace, we made a 38cm cord, then added the clasp and extension chain to adjust the necklace.

Tie a single knot with all the threads at the edge of the last knot.

Thread the closed rings onto the cord then position the different pendants with the 5mm rings. This ring size allows you to place the pendants where you want them without them moving too much or getting stuck on the cord.

Finally, cut the cords flush with the knots at the ends.

Your jewellery is finished!
