10 cm black spinel rosary chain 2 mm, 24K gold-plated Premium brass

A rosary chain dotted with small faceted black spinels, a deep and shiny black, each held by a 24K gold-plated wire wrapped by hand into small loops. The facets catch the light and give the black an almost metallic sparkle, in strong contrast with the gold. The work is done in our partner workshop in Jaipur, India.

Features:

  • Material: 24K gold-plated Premium brass
  • Stone: natural black spinel, faceted
  • Stone size: approx. 2 mm
  • Width: approx. 2 mm
  • Quantity: 10 cm length
  • Treatment: none
  • Manufacture: handmade in our partner workshop in Jaipur, India
  • Origin: gold-plated in Europe
  • Compliance: nickel-free, lead-free and cadmium-free, REACH compliant

The chain is sold in 10 cm lengths and cut in one continuous piece: 2 lengths make a bracelet, 4 lengths a 40 cm choker, with no join. Black and gold is a timeless classic: wear it on its own as a fine necklace, a bracelet or a ring, or pair it with a plain gold-plated chain. To close it, use 3 mm jump rings and a 24K gold-plated clasp.

A little gemmology: spinel is a magnesium aluminium oxide that crystallises in the cubic system. Black spinel owes its colour to a high iron content. With a hardness of 8 on the Mohs scale, it resists scratches very well and keeps the bright sparkle of its facets. Its name is thought to come from the Latin spinella, “little thorn”, after the pointed shape of its crystals. Main deposits: Thailand, Sri Lanka, Madagascar and Myanmar.

In crystal healing: black spinel is linked to the root chakra. It is said to carry a grounding and protective energy, conducive to perseverance.

100% natural product: the shade and size of the stones may vary slightly from one length to another.

Guide to good practices for caring for your jewelry

Guide to good practices for caring for your jewelry

Few objects are imperishable and last over time. Your jewelry, regardless of price or composition, will live with you and thus show signs of aging. This is perfectly normal and does not call the quality into question.

Here are some tips to keep them in the best condition for as long as possible.

  • Remove your jewelry before washing, bathing, and during beauty routines (cream, perfume...). This will help preserve the gold plating in good condition and not damage the Gemstones. Rest assured, the Prémium Perles Corner metals are of very good quality and will survive occasional exposure to water.
  • Avoid chemical products. Contrary to what one might think, doing the dishes, swimming in chlorinated water... does not go well with metals and stones.
  • Be sure to store your jewelry properly. When you are not wearing them, we recommend storing your jewelry in a case, a suede pouch, a zip bag, and especially not in a humid room like the bathroom.
  • Clean your jewelry with soapy water. Avoid chemical products or toothpaste, which could be too harsh for metals and stones. Regular maintenance, once a month, is sufficient. Be sure to dry them well afterward.

In conclusion, your jewelry, like all things, are objects that need attention and respect so you can enjoy them for as long as possible. With these few tips, they should accompany you for years!
