This jewel is based on a technique widely used in Miyuki beads weaving. Here we wanted to upgrade this creation by weaving faceted natural stone beads. The facets of the beads catch the light and give the ring magnificent reflections. To start with, take a piece of wire about 1 metre long. Make sure you have enough wire, as you won't be able to make any connections. Tie a knot on one edge of the ring, leaving about 15cm of thread. On this support we're going to make a gradient of beads to fill the gap in the centre of the ring. To do this, you'll need to adapt the number of beads to the space available. Start with a bead. Thread it onto the needle then pass around the edge of the ring, pass back through the bead then continue to the opposite edge. Follow our diagram below.
Tighten the thread each time so that the beads are well positioned. Be careful to place the right number of beads: too many in a row can create tension and too few can create too much play. Don't hesitate to slightly deform the ring support to adapt. Here we've placed 6 beads in the most widely spaced centre of the ring. Once all the beads are in place, make a knot inside the ring by pricking the needle into the last thread at the edge. To secure the assembly, you can place a small dot of glue on the knot. Thread the needle onto the starting thread and tie a knot inside the ring.
