To begin with, if you'd like to discover and learn the technique of Brickstitch on supports, take a look at this tutorial which starts in the same way, with a first row of delicate Miyuki beads woven around the edge of the support. Click on this link: Miyuki beads flower earrings 

This border of beads will act as a hook for the other beads and will allow you to mount the other beads easily.

For this version, first weave 10 Miyuki delica 11/0 beads around the edge of the backing. Cut a thread about 60cm long and weave the beads, keeping a starting thread of about 15cm. Once the beads are mounted, take the starting wire and tuck it into the beads to stop it. Cut flush.

Take up the weaving thread, thread a mother-of-pearl drop bead and a cube bead. Iron through the mother-of-pearl bead then prick the needle into the 2nd delicate Miyuki bead at the edge. The cube bead will block the mother-of-pearl bead, so hold the thread tight throughout the weaving!

Insert the needle into the 3rd bead, then thread a mother-of-pearl bead and a cube bead again. Continue until you have assembled 5 mother-of-pearl beads.

Now thread the needle through the last mother-of-pearl bead and the cube bead. This will create the last bead border and join the mother-of-pearl beads together.

Thread a gold roundel, a Bohemian bead and a roundel. Prick in the next cube bead and continue the assembly.

Once you have completed the last row, work your way up through the mother-of-pearl bead and the Miyuki bead. Secure the thread by passing it through the beads in the first row, making loops in the beads.

Cut the thread flush.

Make the second loop in the same way...

Your jewellery is finished!
