Practical
A fine spiral that winds along as the knots are made, punctuated by sea-green amazonite and small gold beads. A long, soft cord that can be worn as a necklace or wrapped three times around the wrist. The creation is simple — it only takes the same knot, repeated, and a little time on hand.

For peaceful afternoons, when you want a repetitive, soothing gesture — and a piece you can wear every day afterward.
Tools needed: scissors, lighter, masking tape or clipboard
Cut 3 threads about 1 meter long. Gather them together and make a knot about 20 cm from the end, then secure that knot to your work surface with masking tape or a clipboard. This will keep the threads nice and taut throughout the assembly.
The spiral rests on a single knot: the macramé square knot, worked always in the same direction. It is this identical repetition that naturally twists the cord around itself.
The gesture to repeat: pass the right thread under the central thread, then cross it over the left thread. Pass the left thread over the threads and slide it into the loop formed on the right. Tighten. Repeat this knot as many times as you want — it’s the accumulation that creates the spiral.
From time to time, thread a bead onto the central thread — irregular amazonite, faceted round bead, or a touch of gold — then resume your knots just below. Place them at random or at a regular rhythm, it’s up to you to compose.
To finish, make a classic braid with the threads at each end, tie a knot, then cut off the excess. Your cord here measures 48 cm of knots and 19 cm of braid on each side: long enough to wear as a necklace, or wrapped three times around the wrist.
Running low on thread? Cut a new, long thread, fold it in half, and pass the loop under the central thread, toward the right. Cross the bottom thread over the top one, then pass the top thread through the loop — exactly the same knot as usual. Bring it up against the previous ones, cut the threads that have become too short, and gently singe them to secure them. The join becomes invisible.

Worn as a necklace, the cord falls with great delicacy.
