To begin, unwind the silk thread from its cardboard box and then tie a knot on one of the rings of the pendant at the end of the thread. Make sure the knot is tight. Don't cut the thread at the edge of the knot, we're going to thread it through the first beads. Then thread on an 8mm bead. Also insert the small piece of wire at the end.
Continue stringing the beads, alternating with round metal beads. Tip: Don't unravel the string of 2mm beads! Remove the beads a little at a time (4/5 at a time), holding them firmly between 2 fingers. This will make it easier to thread the needle through the holes in the beads. They will be well aligned in the same axis between your fingers.
Continue stringing the small 2mm faceted beads until you reach the right length. Here we wanted to make a 40cm choker necklace. So we measured from the centre of the pendant to a total length of 20cm.
Now we're going to make the knot to attach the clasp. This is a tricky stage, as you don't want to overtighten the threading so that it remains supple, taking care not to leave too much space. We've got a tip for you! How do you tie a well-positioned knot on a pearl necklace? First make a simple knot on the clasp, then pull on the thread to bring the clasp back to the edge of the beads. Insert a needle into the thread, between the clasp and the beads, then make the 2nd knot. Tighten the knot and remove the needle. Tighten the knot again.
Then repeat all the previous steps symmetrically for the other side of the necklace. At the end of the threading, place a 5cm piece of extension chain. Before cutting any protruding threads, place a small dab of glue on all the knots. This will secure the knots. Once the glue is completely dry, you can now cut the threads at the edges of the knots.
And voilà! Beautiful creation!
