This creation is very easy to make, so start by measuring your neck and visualising where you want the stone to go. For the best effect, the stone should fall between the collarbones.

Cut a piece of nylon thread, here we've used 40cm of thread including the parts of the threads folded over for the clasp, i.e. 1cm on each side.

Now thread a squeeze bead onto the wire, place the clasp and then iron the wire through the squeeze bead. Adjust the thread to fold back 1cm. Flatten the squeeze bead at the edge of the clasp then cut the excess thread flush with the bead.

Thread the drop bead onto the wire. If necessary, bevel the end of the wire to make it easier to pass through the hole. When you cut the wire, it tends to flatten out, which can prevent it from passing easily through the bead. A bevelled cut will be easier.

Now repeat the crush bead operation on the other side with the extension chain.

Your jewellery is finished!
