Every year, the Sakura remind us of the fragile beauty of the moment. For this new 2026 edition, I imagined a pair of earrings inspired by Mankai (満開) — full bloom, that magical moment when cherry trees are in full blossom. Wavy 24K gold plated earrings catch the light, Jewelry inspired by Mono no aware (物の哀れ) — the Japanese sensitivity to the fleeting beauty of things. A tribute to spring, Find all step-by-step instructions and supplies below.

The assembly: |

|
To start, thread 2 Keishi beads onto eye pins. Form pretty, discreet loops using round-nose pliers. Next, thread 14 Sakura beads with a garnet bead in the center onto ball head pins. The shades between the soft pink of the flowers and the intense color of the garnet blend perfectly. This recreates the subtle gradient of the Sakura flowers. The ball of the pin also symbolizes the pistil of the flowers.
Now assemble the different elements together. Open the loop at the top of the Keishi bead and attach it to the earring support ring. At the bottom of the bead, attach the closed ring. Next, thread 7 Sakura Flower beads onto the closed ring.
Repeat the assembly steps for the other earring.
Your jewelry is finished! Beautiful creation! |
