Guide - Where to Find Inspiration

In this article, we give you some tips to unleash your creativity.

Inspiration:

Every form of creation is triggered by a source of inspiration, whether it is a material, a technique, an element taken from an image or an object... All around us we can find stimuli and the desire to deepen our reflections. Here are some tips to guide you in your research and help you organize and archive your findings.

"Where to look?"

"Museums, exhibitions, galleries are good triggers for inspiration. They allow you to find images, objects showcased in a setting. This lets you discover them fully and see details that can stimulate you."
"Books, magazines, and the internet can also be good sources to stimulate imagination, but nothing replaces a real object."
"Don’t hesitate to step outside the field of jewelry by looking at other artistic forms such as architecture, textiles, painting, design... This can inspire you both through shapes and volumes and through color combinations, assemblies, and mounting techniques."
"Obviously, nature is a great source of inspiration through color palettes, organic shapes... Don’t hesitate to take time to observe nature, take photos or sketches. The structure of a flower can allow color and shape combinations we would never have thought of or dared to associate."
"Inspiration can come from anywhere and at any time: a meal, a conversation, a song, a book, while walking..."
"Today, tools like Pinterest also allow you to find new sources of inspiration and archive them in boards."

"Cabinet of curiosities"

"Every object around us can be a subject of study and inspiration. Try to study volumes, textures, lines crossing in space... Build yourself a small collection of objects and materials that can help you with new projects. Having a 'cabinet of curiosities' box is always a nice plus, and what a pleasure to open your box after a while and rediscover a piece, a fragment, a fabric... the memory of the moment and place."

"Sketchbook"

"Anyone who creates should have a small notebook to transpose their ideas, sketch a drawing, annotate information, thoughts... It helps keep a record; it’s an archive of your research."
"Like a diary, this notebook should let you express yourself without judgment on sketches or notes. There are no good or bad sketches, don’t feel blocked by drawing; the only important thing is that you understand later what you wanted to convey."

"Freeing your mind"

"Everyone will find their own way to find inspiration, there are no real rules, just methods and tips to try to find it."
"The most important thing is to free your mind and not put up barriers. The more serene you are, the more your mind can be guided and carried away by what surrounds you."
"The best way is always to take the plunge and try!"

"And as Mr. Albert Einstein said"
"\"He who has never made a mistake has probably never tried anything new\""
