To start, cut a brass thread about 10cm long. Cut 2 pieces of chain about 5cm long. Thread the drop bead then cross the threads at the top of the drop. Twist one of the 2 threads around the other, over 2 turns, then cut the excess flush. If needed, flatten the cut with flat pliers.
Now take round-nose pliers and form a small loop with the remaining thread. Insert the chain before finalizing the assembly.
Secure the loop with flat pliers then wrap the thread between the tip of the drop and the loop over several turns. Make as many turns as you want; this dresses the top of the bead and provides a nice finish! Cut the excess thread flush.
To finish, gently open the ring located at the bottom of the earring in a spiral towards the side. Insert the chain then close the ring. Be careful to open the ring just enough to pass the link through, to avoid weakening the attachment or even breaking the ring. Repeat all the steps to make the other earring. There you go! Your creation is finished. Beautiful creation! |
