Start by choosing your colours, and don't be afraid to play with contrasts and opposing shades. If you're not sure what you want, take inspiration from a magazine image, a fabric pattern, the colours of flowers, a decorative object...

For this creation, we're going to start by weaving a strip of beads using the Peyote Pair weaving technique. This method is very easy, and you can find a step-by-step guide here: Peyote Pair Weaving Technique

Here we've made 2 versions, the first earring (orange/red/jade green) is larger and starts with 12 beads. The second earring (midnight blue/yellow, pink coral) starts with 10 beads.

Make the strips as wide as you like, and continue weaving until you have 13 beads on the edge of the first loop, and 9 beads on the edge of the second.

The beads around the edge will act as a hook for the fringes, so the number of beads around the edge will be the same as the number of fringes you want.

Then make the fringes. Here we've made fringes with 41 beads for the first loop and 45 beads for the second.

To make a fringe, thread the desired number of beads, then skip the last bead and thread the needle back through the beads. Work your way up to the bead at the edge, then move on to the next bead. Pull the thread slightly to tighten the row of beads, making sure the fringe remains supple.

Finally, stick the earring holder to the back of the weave.

Your jewellery is finished!
