This creation is not very complicated to make, carefully follow the explanations below to faithfully reproduce this model. Our video below shows you the essential assembly steps. Feel free to create variations with the beads of your choice! Change sizes for a smaller or larger sphere. Play with styles! Use natural beads for a more jewelry-like finish. Here we used a 5-bead module that repeats throughout the assembly. To start, cut a nylon thread about 80cm long. Be careful not to take a thread too short or you risk running out during assembly. You won't be able to make joins! String 5 beads, center them on the thread then pass one of the threads back through the last strung bead. This way you get the first 5-bead module. Now string 4 beads on the right thread. Pass the left thread through the last bead. You have just assembled the 2nd 5-bead module. Pass the right thread through the next bead of the 1st module. We will turn around the first module to complete it with the other bead modules. String 3 beads (your thread already passes through 2 beads, we add 3 new ones to create the 5-bead module). Then pass back through the last bead. Continue like this to complete the circle. After this step, you get a half sphere. We will now make the other part to close the sphere. Pass the thread through the next bead, so your thread passes through 2 edge beads. String 3 beads then pass through the last bead. Now pass the thread through the next 3 beads then string 2 beads... You will naturally form the other part of the sphere. For the last module that will close the sphere, pass the thread through the next 4 beads and string one bead. Pass back through the bead to close the sphere. Pass the thread back through the beads of the last module and come out next to the other thread. Make a double knot. For use as a Christmas ornament, you can string beads on the thread, pass back through the first bead, then make a double knot at the base. This way, you get a bead suspension loop! And there you go! Your creation is finished! I hope you enjoy this tutorial and that it inspires you to create variations. ![]() Beautiful creation! |
