In this tutorial I give you the measurements for making a 40cm choker necklace, plus 5cm adjustment with the extension chain. Feel free to modify the measurements to your size. You can even make this necklace entirely with beads for a maximum mother-of-pearl effect!

To start, cut a nylon thread about 30cm long (adjust the length to your threading, here we made a 20cm bead strand).

Cut 2 pieces of chain about 10cm long. Here the size is for a choker necklace, adjust the length to your preference.

Start threading...

Thread a crimp bead onto the nylon thread, pass the thread through the last link of the chain, then pass back through the crimp bead. Bring it towards the link then flatten it.

Now thread a round gold-plated brass bead, a mother-of-pearl bead, a round bead... Here we threaded 7 mother-of-pearl beads alternated with gold beads. Finish with a gold bead.

Then to finalize the threading, place a crimp bead, pass through the link of the second chain, then pass back through the bead. Pull the thread to bring the threading towards the chain link. Before flattening the crimp bead, make sure to keep a flexible and mobile bead threading. Do not apply too much tension between the beads! Flatten the crimp bead with flat pliers.

To finish, cut a piece of extension about 5cm long and connect it to the end of the chain with a 3mm jump ring. On the other side, connect the clasp with a 3mm jump ring.

To embellish the extension chain, you can mount a small mother-of-pearl bead on a headpin.
