Here I give you the instructions to perform this technique. You can adapt it to make a necklace or a bracelet. For that, adjust the length of your thread.
For a bracelet, cut 3 threads of about 50cm (allow enough length as you won't be able to make a joint).
For a necklace, cut 3 threads of about 1m for a choker necklace.
To start, cut 3 threads (adjust the size to your project). Thread the 3 threads into the clasp then make 2 tight knots at the edge of the clasp. Cut the excess threads 1mm from the knot then carefully burn the threads to secure the knot. The threads will melt, allowing you to glue them onto the knot. String the beads of your choice and in the desired order on one of the threads. Mix shapes, sizes, and materials, don't try to be regular, vary the beads randomly to give a beautiful harmonious effect. Stringing the beads on the thread can be long, the thread can fray, don't hesitate to trim the thread from time to time. Now start the braid with the 3 threads. At the desired spots, incorporate a bead into the braiding. It's simple: slide the bead when the bead thread is on the outside of the braid, bring the bead to the edge of the braid, then continue braiding. To finish, place the extension chain or a clasp attachment and make a double knot. Cut the excess and burn the thread. Your jewelry is finished! Beautiful creation! |
