It's THE trend for summer 2023
Body jewellery or body chains can be worn in a variety of ways.
Here, we've worked it like a necklace that runs down the back to the hips. This minimalist version features a crimped pendant surrounded by cowrie shells for a beachy feel, with a confetti chain that catches the sun's rays and brightens up the outfit.
This jewel is very easy to make and can be worn with all kinds of outfits. Under a short t-shirt to reveal the chain falling on the hips, with a 2-piece swimming costume, with a slightly low-cut shirt...
Follow our explanations below and have a great summer!

The measurements given here were taken for the model, so you'll need to take your measurements as you go along, on your person, throughout the assembly process, to get the right size for you. The jewel must be comfortable to wear, neither too loose nor too tight. To begin, assemble the connector crimped to the centre of the 2 cowrie shell pendants using 4mm rings. Then cut 2 pieces of chain, each about 36cm long. Test the length on yourself so that the cowrie shell/chain assembly falls just below the chest. Now, slightly widen the links at the ends of the chains with a reamer. This will make it easier for the rings to pass through. Fit a 3x2.4mm oval ring on each chain and close it. Then connect these rings to the cowrie shell pendant with 4mm rings. As shown in the photo below.
On the top of the chains, connect the clasp and the extension chain with 3x2.4mm oval rings and close them properly. The upper part of the jewel, which can be worn as a necklace, is now complete! For the bottom, put on the necklace and determine the length of the chain that will fall on the top of the hips. Note that you must be able to thread your jewellery through this chain, either from the top or the bottom. So don't measure too tightly! Putting a clasp on it would not be very aesthetic! Here we've used a 95cm chain. This leaves plenty of room to slip it on without forcing it and gives a lovely, supple fit. Once worn, the jewel creates no tension and is easy to forget. To connect this chain, widen the links at the ends then fit 3x2.4mm oval rings at both ends. Now connect the rings at the ends with a 4mm ring directly to the bottom shell. And voilà! Beautiful creation!
And voilà! A great achievement! |
