Summer 2023 Trend Tutorial Body Jewelry with Chain and Natural Stones

It's THE trend of summer 2023 Body jewelry or body chains can be worn in different ways. Here we worked it like a necklace that extends over the hips at the back. A minimalist version that highlights a set pendant surrounded by cowrie shell pendants for a beach vibe with a confetti chain that catches the sun's rays and brightens the outfit. This piece of jewelry is very simple to make and can be worn with all types of outfits. Under a cropped t-shirt to let the chain fall on the hips, with a two-piece swimsuit, with a slightly unbuttoned shirt... Follow all our explanations below and have a great summer!

For this project you will need:
a confetti link chain 3x2.4mm oval rings 4mm rings a 6mm set connector 2 cowrie shell pendants an extension chain a clasp jewelry making pliers a reamer

Some explanations:

The measurements given here were made for the model; you will need to take your measurements as you go, on yourself, throughout the assembly to get the right size that fits you. The jewelry must be comfortable to wear, neither too loose nor too tight.

To start, assemble the set connector in the center of the 2 cowrie pendants with 4mm rings.

Then cut 2 pieces of chain about 36cm each. Test the length on yourself so that the cowrie/setting assembly falls just below the chest.

Now, slightly widen the links at the ends of the chains with a reamer. This will make it easier to pass the rings through.

Attach a 3x2.4mm oval ring on each chain and close it. Then connect these rings to the cowrie pendant with 4mm rings. As in the photo below.

At the top of the chains, attach the clasp and the extension chain with 3x2.4mm oval rings and close them properly.

The upper part of the jewelry, which is worn as a necklace, is now finished!

For the bottom, put on the necklace and determine the length of the chain that will fall on the top of the hips.

Be careful, you must be able to put your jewelry on through this chain, either from the top or the bottom. So don't take a measurement that's too tight! Adding a clasp there wouldn't be very aesthetic!

Here we used a 95cm chain. This allows room to put it on without forcing and gives a nice soft drape on the body. Once worn, the jewelry creates no tension and is forgotten.

To connect this chain, widen the links at the ends then attach 3x2.4mm oval rings at both ends.

Now, connect the rings at the ends with a 4mm ring directly onto the lower cowrie.

And there you go! Beautiful creation!
