Strand of 4 mm faceted round beads in natural Ruby, ornamental quality

One strand of about 37.5 cm of faceted round ruby beads, in a deep raspberry pink. Here and there, a brighter bead leans toward fuchsia. This ornamental-grade ruby is opaque and veined, with a soft, matte sheen reminiscent of rough stone.

Characteristics:

  • Stone: natural ruby, ornamental grade
  • Shape: faceted round
  • Size: about 4 mm
  • Hole: about 0.8 mm
  • Thread length: about 37.5 cm
  • Quantity: about 95 beads per strand
  • Color: deep raspberry pink, fuchsia tones
  • Treatment: none

The 4 mm size is suitable for all creations: stretch bracelets or cable bracelets, necklaces, earrings. This intense pink stands out especially with gold tones. With a hole of about 0.8 mm, use a 0.5 to 0.6 mm elastic thread, a 0.38 mm cable or a 0.4 mm nylon thread. This ruby is also available in a lot of 10 beads.

A bit of gemology: ruby is a corundum, an aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃), colored red by traces of chromium. With a hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale, it is surpassed only by diamond. “Ornamental grade” refers to opaque crystals rich in inclusions. They are too cloudy to be cut as jewelry gems, but perfect for beads that retain all the strength of corundum. Its name comes from the Latin ruber, “red.” Rubies of this grade come mainly from India, Madagascar, Tanzania and Mozambique.

In lithotherapy: ruby is associated with the root chakra. As a stone of vitality, it is believed to stimulate energy, courage and passion.

100% natural product: the size, shape, shade and number of beads may vary slightly from one strand to another. The dimensions and quantities are given for guidance only.

Guide to good practices for caring for your jewelry

Guide to good practices for caring for your jewelry

Few objects are imperishable and last over time. Your jewelry, regardless of price or composition, will live with you and thus show signs of aging. This is perfectly normal and does not call the quality into question.

Here are some tips to keep them in the best condition for as long as possible.

  • Remove your jewelry before washing, bathing, and during beauty routines (cream, perfume...). This will help preserve the gold plating in good condition and not damage the Gemstones. Rest assured, the Prémium Perles Corner metals are of very good quality and will survive occasional exposure to water.
  • Avoid chemical products. Contrary to what one might think, doing the dishes, swimming in chlorinated water... does not go well with metals and stones.
  • Be sure to store your jewelry properly. When you are not wearing them, we recommend storing your jewelry in a case, a suede pouch, a zip bag, and especially not in a humid room like the bathroom.
  • Clean your jewelry with soapy water. Avoid chemical products or toothpaste, which could be too harsh for metals and stones. Regular maintenance, once a month, is sufficient. Be sure to dry them well afterward.

In conclusion, your jewelry, like all things, are objects that need attention and respect so you can enjoy them for as long as possible. With these few tips, they should accompany you for years!
