Strand of 2 mm faceted round beads in natural midnight blue sapphire

A strand of about 38 cm of tiny faceted sapphire beads, a deep midnight blue. In the light, some beads reveal a brighter blue. Their very fine facets give the strand a crisp, subtle shine.

Characteristics :

  • Stone : natural sapphire
  • Shape : faceted round
  • Size : about 2 mm
  • Hole : about 0.5 mm
  • Thread length : about 38 cm
  • Quantity : about 198 beads per strand
  • Color : deep midnight blue
  • Treatment : none

This very small size is suitable for delicate jewellery: layered fine bracelets, chokers, beaded rings, embroidery. The midnight blue sapphire adds a dark, elegant touch, especially next to gold. The hole is fine, about 0.5 mm: use 0.2 mm nylon thread, or beading thread with a fine needle.

A bit of gemology : sapphire is a corundum, that is, an aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃) that crystallizes in the trigonal system. With a hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale, it is the hardest natural gemstone after diamond: its facets stay sharp through wear. Its density is about 4. Its blue comes from traces of iron and titanium; the more iron dominates, the darker the blue becomes, up to this midnight blue. The name comes from the Greek sappheiros. The main deposits are found in Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Thailand, and Australia.

In lithotherapy : sapphire is associated with the throat and third eye chakras. A stone of wisdom in many traditions, it is said to soothe the mind and promote clarity of judgment.

100% natural product : the size, shape, shade, and number of beads may vary slightly from one strand to another. The dimensions and quantities are given for information only.

Guide to good practices for caring for your jewelry

Guide to good practices for caring for your jewelry

Few objects are imperishable and last over time. Your jewelry, regardless of price or composition, will live with you and thus show signs of aging. This is perfectly normal and does not call the quality into question.

Here are some tips to keep them in the best condition for as long as possible.

  • Remove your jewelry before washing, bathing, and during beauty routines (cream, perfume...). This will help preserve the gold plating in good condition and not damage the Gemstones. Rest assured, the Prémium Perles Corner metals are of very good quality and will survive occasional exposure to water.
  • Avoid chemical products. Contrary to what one might think, doing the dishes, swimming in chlorinated water... does not go well with metals and stones.
  • Be sure to store your jewelry properly. When you are not wearing them, we recommend storing your jewelry in a case, a suede pouch, a zip bag, and especially not in a humid room like the bathroom.
  • Clean your jewelry with soapy water. Avoid chemical products or toothpaste, which could be too harsh for metals and stones. Regular maintenance, once a month, is sufficient. Be sure to dry them well afterward.

In conclusion, your jewelry, like all things, are objects that need attention and respect so you can enjoy them for as long as possible. With these few tips, they should accompany you for years!
