Strand of round beads 3 mm in natural gray agate

A strand of about 38 cm of small 3 mm round beads in gray agate, polished to a soft shine. Their gray tone, with slightly shifting shades from bead to bead, brings a restrained, mineral note to every palette.

Features:

  • Stone: natural gray agate
  • Shape: round, polished
  • Size: about 3 mm
  • Hole: about 0.7 mm
  • Thread length: about 38 cm
  • Quantity: about 130 beads per strand
  • Color: gray

This small size is ideal for layered delicate bracelets, close-fitting necklaces, and spacer beads between larger beads. It works just as well with gold-tone as with silver-tone. With a hole of about 0.7 mm, choose a 0.3 to 0.5 mm nylon thread or a thin cable. This gray agate is also available in faceted beads, in the same size.

A little gemology: agate is a variety of chalcedony, a microcrystalline quartz (SiO₂) whose crystals are too fine to be seen with the naked eye. It forms in successive layers in the cavities of volcanic rocks, which explains its zones and banding. Hardness 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale, density about 2.6. Its name is said to come from the Achates, a river in Sicily where the Greek philosopher Theophrastus is believed to have described it. The main deposits are found in Brazil, Uruguay, India, and Madagascar.

In lithotherapy: gray agate is linked to the root chakra. It is associated with calm, stability, and inner balance.

100% natural product: size, shape, shade, and number of beads may vary slightly from one strand to another. Dimensions and quantities are given for guidance only.

Guide to good practices for caring for your jewelry

Guide to good practices for caring for your jewelry

Few objects are imperishable and last over time. Your jewelry, regardless of price or composition, will live with you and thus show signs of aging. This is perfectly normal and does not call the quality into question.

Here are some tips to keep them in the best condition for as long as possible.

  • Remove your jewelry before washing, bathing, and during beauty routines (cream, perfume...). This will help preserve the gold plating in good condition and not damage the Gemstones. Rest assured, the Prémium Perles Corner metals are of very good quality and will survive occasional exposure to water.
  • Avoid chemical products. Contrary to what one might think, doing the dishes, swimming in chlorinated water... does not go well with metals and stones.
  • Be sure to store your jewelry properly. When you are not wearing them, we recommend storing your jewelry in a case, a suede pouch, a zip bag, and especially not in a humid room like the bathroom.
  • Clean your jewelry with soapy water. Avoid chemical products or toothpaste, which could be too harsh for metals and stones. Regular maintenance, once a month, is sufficient. Be sure to dry them well afterward.

In conclusion, your jewelry, like all things, are objects that need attention and respect so you can enjoy them for as long as possible. With these few tips, they should accompany you for years!
