This pastel gradient suits fine necklaces, delicate bracelets, and refined earrings; it pairs particularly well with gold tones and mother-of-pearl. The same tourmaline is also available in a selection of intense tones, with deeper pinks and richer greens. With a hole of approximately 0.7 mm, plan on a fine nylon thread or a suitable cable.
A little gemology: tourmaline is not a single mineral but a group of complex borosilicates; colored tourmalines like these belong mostly to elbaite, rich in lithium. It crystallizes in the trigonal system, in long striated prisms, and has a hardness of 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale with a density of about 3.1. No other gem covers such a wide palette: manganese gives it its pinks, iron and titanium its greens and browns, and the same crystal can change color from one end to the other. Its name is said to come from the Sinhalese turamali, a term used in Sri Lanka for stones of mixed colors. The main deposits are found in Brazil, Africa (Mozambique, Nigeria, Madagascar), and Afghanistan.
To know: tourmaline is stable and not very sensitive; a simple soft cloth is enough to care for it. Just avoid ultrasonic baths, which can weaken beads with inclusions.
In lithotherapy: multicolor tourmaline is associated with the heart chakra. Bringing together all colors, it is said to encourage harmony, emotional balance, and gentleness toward oneself.
The strand you will receive: this soft-tone selection has only four strands, sorted together. The strand you will receive is one of those shown in the photo and video, with the same color palette; only the order of the beads differs from one strand to another.
100% natural product: size, shape, shade, and number of beads may vary slightly from one strand to another. Dimensions and quantities are given for guidance only.
