Their small size is ideal for fine necklaces, delicate bracelets, earrings and layered strands. With a hole of approximately 0.7 mm, choose a suitable thread or needle: nylon thread, fine cable or silk thread.

A bit of gemology : apatite is a calcium phosphate, Ca₅(PO₄)₃(F,Cl,OH), which crystallizes in the hexagonal system; the most common variety is fluorapatite. It serves as a reference mineral for level 5 on the Mohs scale, with a density of about 3.2. Its yellow hue comes from traces of substituted elements in the crystal lattice, especially rare earths. Its name comes from the Greek apatein, "to deceive": early mineralogists often confused it with beryl, topaz or peridot. Yellow apatite is notably mined in Mexico, Brazil and Madagascar.

Note : relatively soft, apatite is sensitive to impacts, friction against harder stones and acidic products. Store your jewelry separately and clean it simply with a soft cloth, without an ultrasonic bath.
