Tools needed: one flat-nose pliers
Gently pull on the hoop post to release it from its support and open it. Thread on a first petal, then orient the next one in the opposite direction. By alternating the direction of each petal like this, they do not nest into one another and immediately create a lovely volume.
Continue threading while playing with the three shades. Place the darkest petals in the center, then move toward the lighter tones on the sides. To keep the color change soft, intersperse a petal of the next shade between two petals of the previous one. This creates a gradual transition.
Put the stem back in its slot, then bend it slightly upward with flat pliers: the hoop is locked and can no longer open. All that remains is to connect the ring at the top of the floral hoop to the ring at the back of the earring stud. Your pair is ready.
Before closing the hoop, hold it upright and let the petals fall naturally. You’ll immediately see the volume effect and color balance, and you can adjust the order of the petals before locking the stem in place. Also remember to make the second earring as the mirror image of the first for a perfectly harmonious pair.
This bouquet can be adapted endlessly to suit your mood. For a romantic look, choose a range of pink shades; for a softer, more summery version, combine peach and cream tones. Want a more graphic result? Limit yourself to two bold contrasting colors. These floral hoops can be worn on their own or paired with a floral pendant for a perfectly bucolic look.
