To begin with, measure the size of your neck, leaving a little slack. This collar should fall to the level of the collarbones. Here we have made a 40cm choker (total size, clasp without extension chain).

The extension chain will make it easier to adjust the necklace to suit your different outfits. Don't forget that the clasp must be made to measure.

Cut an extension chain about 5cm long. This will make it easier to adjust the necklace to suit your neckline.

Start assembly:

To begin, cut 10 pieces of nugget chain, keeping 3 nuggets.

Take your brass wire and use the round-ended pliers to make a loop about 2cm from the end.

Thread a nugget link through the loop you've created, then wrap the thread around the edge of the loop for 2 turns. This locks the loop and the chain and secures the assembly.

Then string 8 Malachite beads...

Still using the round-ended pliers, form a small loop 1mm from the last pearl, then thread a new piece of nugget chain. To secure the loop, wind the thread between the loop and the last pearl 2 turns.

Trim the excess thread flush.

If your thread sticks out a little, gently flatten it with flat-nose pliers. This will avoid scratching yourself and snagging your clothes.

Continue in this way until you have created 9 beads assemblies connected to the 10 pieces of nugget chain.

Finally, assemble the buoy clasp on one side by opening its ring. On the other side of the necklace, attach the extension chain with a 3mm ring.

And voilà! Beautiful creation!
