In this tutorial, I give you the measurements for making a 40cm choker necklace, plus 5cm of adjustment with the extension chain. Feel free to modify the measurements to your size. You can even make this necklace entirely with beads for a maxi mother-of-pearl effect!

To start, cut a nylon wire about 30cm (adjust the length to your threading, here we have made a bead threading of 20cm).

Cut 2 pieces of chain about 10cm. Here is the size for a choker necklace, adjust the length to your liking.

Start the threading...

Thread a crimp bead onto the nylon wire, pass the wire through the last link of the chain, then pass back through the crimp bead. Bring it towards the link and then flatten it.

Now thread a round bead in gold-plated brass, a mother-of-pearl bead, a round bead... Here we have threaded 7 mother-of-pearl beads alternating with gold beads. Finish with a gold bead.

Next, to finalize the threading, place a crimp bead, pass through the link of the second chain, then pass back through the bead. Pull on the wire to bring the threading towards the link of the chain. Before flattening the crimp bead, make sure to keep the bead threading flexible and mobile. Do not apply too much tension between the beads! Flatten the bead with flat pliers.

To finish, cut a piece of extension about 5cm and connect it to the end of the chain with a 3mm ring. On the other side, connect the clasp with a 3mm ring.

To enhance the extension chain, you can add a small mother-of-pearl bead on a pin.
