To begin, determine the length of your necklace, then cut the chain in 3 places.

Don't look for perfect symmetry - a slight offset between the beads will give your creation more rhythm.

Then cut a piece of brass wire about 20cm long. Form a loop at one end of the wire, leaving about 1.5cm.

Thread the chain link through the loop, then wrap the small thread (1.5cm) around the bottom of the loop for 2 turns. Trim the excess flush.

Thread a Miyuki pearl, a spinning top pearl, the Quartz pearl and then, in symmetry, the spinning top and the Miyuki pearl. 

Then form a loop 1mm from the last bead threaded and form a loop. Thread the other chain and wrap the thread around the edge of the loop for 2 turns. This gives a very strong hold!

Then, to decorate the Quartz bead, take a piece of brass wire, wind one end of the wire 1 turn between the spinning top bead and the Quartz bead. Cross the wire over the bead then pass behind the other spinning top. Cross the thread back over the bead then pass behind the spinner again. Go straight down to the other spinner, pass behind it and then straight back up to the spinner. Wrap the thread once then cut flush.

You should get an X on the bead and 2 straight threads around the edges of the X. 

Repeat these steps with the other 2 Quartz beads to close the necklace.
