What to do with... leftover chains

Nothing is lost... everything transforms, and this quote is also true for many findings, especially chains. Maëlle gives you here some tips to use your small chain pieces and thus complete your jewelry collection!

Since I started making jewelry, I meticulously keep all the chain ends, links, rosary chains... and we will show you how to use them.

The rings:

Just measure your finger size and transfer the measurement to the pieces of chains you have. Open a ring and use it to connect the chain pieces. And there you go, it's done...
For an even more stunning effect, accumulate these small rings by varying the chains you have.

The mixandmatch:

That is to say, recreating a bracelet or a necklace chain by combining different pieces of chains and mixing textures. This will highlight a chain, a stone color...

Rosary chains in natural stones:

Since the first link is often not usable, I also carefully keep every small stone! And yes, even a small bead is preserved and reused.

Thus, if one of my stones breaks in a bracelet or a necklace, I can change the broken stone by creating a new beaded link.
For this, I use 0.4 mm flexible brass thread, I create a loop with a mini plier or the smallest part of a round plier, I connect my link to my chain then I make a few turns around the thread to tighten and close my loop. With flat pliers, I slightly crush my thread to make it as discreet as possible.

The fringes:

As earrings in hoops or as a necklace... by mixing beads and chains, the fringes will bring a bohemian touch to your creations.
For a graphic touch, the fringes can be in a gradient of length, which is very useful for reusing different chain ends.
You can also mix chains with Miyuki beads strung on threads.

Very beautiful creations and good recycling!
