The 0.8 mm hole accepts a 0.60 to 0.65 mm nylon thread in single stringing, a 0.35 mm one if the thread needs to pass through twice, and 0.5 mm elastic for a bracelet. As a center bead on a fine chain, or mounted as a pendant on a flat head stud.

A little gemology: strawberry quartz is a natural quartz whose color does not come from the crystal itself, but from what it contains: fine inclusions of iron oxides — hematite, lepidocrocite, or goethite — in flakes and needles, which give it this speckled raspberry pink and these coppery reflections. Each bead shows a different scattering of inclusions. Hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale, like all quartz: a solid stone, suitable for everyday wear. Main deposits: Brazil, Madagascar, Mexico, Kazakhstan.
