Succumb to the finesse of these necklaces made with our traditional heishi beads! We've redesigned our famous summertime surfer necklaces with acid colors, a chain to complete the stringing and pendants. A real piece of summer jewelry to wear during the day, at the beach or in the evening... and to personalize with the colors of your choice! This tutorial is very easy to do, so give it a try!

Take your silk thread and thread a crush pearl. Thread through the clasp ring, then through the crush pearl again. Tie a double knot at the edge of the clasp, then place the crush pearl on the knot. Flatten with flat-nose pliers. Start stringing the heishi beads in alternating colors. Feel free to play with the rhythm of the colors, opt for regular repetition or let your imagination run wild by creating gradations... For added contrast, play with color and rhythm! Once you've reached the center of the necklace, at about 20cm, place the pendant, then use symmetry to finish the other part of the necklace. Next, thread a crush bead and a 3cm extension chain. Thread through the crush bead. Tie a well-positioned double knot at the edge of the beads, then place the crush bead on the knot before flattening it.
Be sure to keep the necklace supple before flattening the bead. To give life to your creation, I recommend using at least 2 colors of Heishi beads. For the necklace with the chain, the assembly will be almost similar except that you will cut 2 pieces of 10cm chain. Thread the Heishi pearls onto the ends of the chains. Use 4mm rings to secure the clasp. |
