traditional 4mm and 6mm Heishi beads

To begin, cut a brass wire approximately 42cm long. (For a 40cm necklace)

Mount the pendant on a 4mm ring and pass it over the wire.

Start mounting the beads in symmetry...

Here we've strung 4mm white pearls around the pendant, followed by 5 stone chips.

Then add a touch of color with 6mm Heishi beads.

Between each 6mm washer, insert a 4mm washer. This gives relief.

You can also place the metal washers to add contrast...

Once the beads have been strung to the right length, form the loops at the ends. Here we've made a 40cm choker necklace.

Open the loops, then place the clasp on one side and the extension chain on the other. (approx. 4cm)
