To get started, you can either keep the order of the mixed beads as on the thread, or sort them by color to shade your necklace. To do this, unravel the pearl thread and make series of 9 pearls organized by shades of similar hues. Take the silk thread and thread a squeeze bead and your clasp, before passing through the squeeze bead again. Pull the thread back to bring the clasp to the end of the thread, keeping a piece of about 5cm. Tie a double knot to the edge of the clasp, then to secure the closure, place the pearl to be crushed on the knot before flattening it slightly. Start stringing the beads... Here we've alternated series of 9 beads with a metal bead in between. This gives rhythm to the whole. Once you've strung the right length of beads for your neck, you can place the extension chain. At the end of the thread, place the bead to be crushed, an extension chain (approx. 3cm) and then thread back through the bead to be crushed. Before tightening the bead, place the curved necklace in its final shape, keeping it flexible. Tie 2 knots at the edge of the chain, then bring the pearl over the knot. |
