This jewel is very simple to make, simply string the different beads in the order you wish on the wire. You can play with the different shades of pearls and the natural and metal beads to give rhythm to the stringing.
Tip: start threading from the center of the necklace, so you can easily reproduce the symmetry as you go along. You'll be able to see how it looks straight away, without having to take it all apart if you don't like a particular combination of pearls. It's also easier because you don't have to recount all the pearls!
Here we've placed the tube bead in the center, then on each side we've placed a metal washer. Then string the heishi beads (in this case, we've placed them in groups of 20 beads to ensure a regular rhythm). Intersperse heishi beads with round metal beads and 6mm round natural stone beads. Once you've reached the desired length, secure the thread at the ends with pliers to prevent it from escaping!!! Here we've made a 38cm thread. The necklace will measure 40cm with the clasp attached. Thread 2 squeeze beads onto one end of the thread, then the clasp ring, then back through the squeeze beads. Pull on the thread to bring the clasp to the edge of the beads. Then gently flatten the crush beads. Tip: Don't crush the pearl too firmly, as this may break the nylon thread. A little pressure is enough. Test the hold to make sure it's secure. To prevent the end of the thread from scratching, draw in the remaining thread over about 3cm of beads. For the other side, do the same, but this time with the other part of the clasp. But before flattening the beads to be crushed, position the necklace in its final shape, maintaining flexibility between the beads. Your necklace must remain fluid, otherwise you risk creating unpleasant and unsightly tension. And voilà! A great achievement! |
