What to do with... leftover chains

Nothing is lost... everything is transformed, and this quote is also true for many findings, especially chains. Maëlle gives you some tips here to use your small pieces of chains and thus complete your jewelry collection!

Since I started making jewelry, I meticulously keep all the pieces of chains, links, rosary chains... and we will show you how to use them.

The rings:

Just measure the size of your finger and transfer the measurement to the pieces of chains you have. Open a ring and use it to connect the pieces of chains. And there you go, it's done....
For an even more stunning effect, create an accumulation of these small rings by varying the chains you have.

The mix and match:

That is to say, recreate a bracelet or a necklace chain by combining different pieces of chains and mixing textures. This will highlight a chain, a color of stone...

Natural stone rosary chains:

Since the first link is often not usable, I also carefully keep every small stone! And yes, even a small bead can be preserved and reused.

Thus, if one of my stones breaks in a bracelet or necklace, I can change the broken stone by creating a new beaded link.
For this, I use flexible brass wire of 0.4 mm, I create a loop with a mini pliers or the smallest part of round pliers, I connect my link to my chain and then I make a few turns around the wire to tighten and close my loop. With flat pliers, I slightly crush my wire so that it is as discreet as possible.

The fringes:

In hoop earrings or necklaces... by mixing beads and chains, the fringes will bring a bohemian touch to your creations.
For a graphic side, the fringes can be in a gradient of length, which is very useful for reusing different pieces of chains.
You can also mix chains with Miyuki beads strung on threads.

Very beautiful creations and good recycling!
