How to choose quality Natural Stones?
The choice of natural stones is the fundamental act of this creative process. You can choose stones based on their color, texture, and/or meanings. This will make your jewelry not only beautiful but also personal. Whether you are drawn to the soothing amethyst or the energizing carnelian, first listen to your intuition.
At Perles Corner, we select quality stones and offer you a wide choice of beads so that your creations are as beautiful as in your imagination!
You can find all our natural stones directly on the website and in our Paris shop.
How to know if a stone is really natural?
Gems carry within them a story thousands of years old, each telling a tale of the earth from which it comes. In a world where jewelry comes in all shapes and materials, knowing how to distinguish a natural stone from an imitation is a valuable and essential skill to ensure the quality of your creations. For jewelry makers, collectors, and the curious, recognizing the authenticity of a stone is essential. Here are some tips to guide you.
- Touch the stone. Natural stones tend to be cooler to the touch than plastic or glass imitations. Even though they warm up with human contact, they remain cool longer.
- Observe the stone in the light. Natural stones often show inclusions or color variations, signs of their geological formation. These imperfections can be an indicator of authenticity, unlike imitations that often have a too perfect and uniform appearance.
- The price, a stone that is too cheap can be an indicator of poor quality.
There are still many other ways, but feel free to ask the seller as well.
At Perles Corner, we are passionate about stones, we even have a person qualified in Gemology who sources and selects all our stones to offer you quality stones.
The assembly of the choker necklace
With all your beads at hand, it's time to start assembling.
First, make a knot with the thread on the ring of the pendant. Make a tight knot to secure the assembly.
Now thread the beads one by one, alternating natural stones and golden beads to create a rhythm and visual harmony. Take the time to experiment with the order until you find the perfect balance.
Then continue with the 2mm faceted beads. To do this, take them apart in batches of 4/5 beads, it will be easier to thread them onto the needle.

How to make a knot on a beaded necklace
The finishing of your necklace is as important as its beginning.
The positioning of the knot at the edge of the clasp is essential for the durability of your jewelry, but it is also the most delicate step!
There’s nothing more frustrating than finishing your bead threading and missing the placement of the clasp. A necklace that is too tight will be rigid and uncomfortable. Too loose, the beads will move and you will be able to see the thread.
Here’s a tip that will allow you to make a knot perfectly in the right place and super easily!
Make a simple knot to attach the clasp to the thread. Hold the clasp and then pull on the thread to bring it as close as possible to the beads.
Now insert a needle into the knot between the beads and the clasp.
Make the last knot normally. It will naturally position itself around the needle.
Remove the needle and then tighten the knot well.
To secure your assembly, I recommend placing a small dot of glue on the knots.

Creating your own natural stone necklace is a rewarding adventure that results in a piece of jewelry as unique as you.
What a pleasure to see the result! It's an expression of creativity, an exercise in patience, and a true personal satisfaction.
With these steps and tips, you are now ready to create a refined necklace, perfect for adding an elegant touch to your end-of-year outfits or to give as a gift to someone important to you.
Beautiful creation!
