 Beads to crush

Here we've made a 45cm necklace (without the extension that will allow you to adjust it). We wanted a necklace worn close to the neck, but not too tight to accentuate the suppleness of the fall. You can adjust the size to your liking by reducing the length of the chains, or reducing the number of pearls.

To begin, cut 2 pieces of chain, each 10cm long. We'll connect the bead threading to these chains.

Unwind your silk thread, then thread a bead to be crushed, pass the needle through the chain link and then back through the bead. Crush it as close as possible to the chain with flat-nose pliers.

Then, to secure the hook, tie two knots at the edge of the bead to be crushed. Tighten well, then cut the excess wire at the edge of the knots.

Start threading...

String 12 small beads, trying to take 3 by 3 to make assembly easier.

Alternate with a star bead, then repeat with 12 new beads. Continue until you have placed 9 series of 12 beads with the star beads.

Finish with a star pearl.

Now thread a crush bead through the chain link. Pass back through the bead to be crushed, then pull on the thread to tighten the threading.

Before crushing the bead to be crushed, be sure to leave the threading flexible but without any gaps between the beads. Your assembly should remain fluid without rigidity.

Then crush the bead and tie two tight knots at the edges. Trim the excess thread.

In the center of the bead thread, place the pendant set with a 3mm ring.

Finally, place the extension chain (3cm) with 3mm ring on one side of the chain, and the carabiner on the other.
