To begin, unwind the silk thread from its cardboard box, then tie a knot on one of the pendant's rings at the end of the thread. Make sure the knot is tight. Don't cut the thread at the edge of the knot, as we'll be threading it through the first beads. Then thread on an 8mm bead. Also insert the small piece of wire at the end. Continue stringing beads, alternating with round metal beads. Tip: Don't unravel the 2mm bead strand! Remove the beads little by little in 4/5s, holding them firmly between 2 fingers. This will make it easier to thread the needle through the bead holes. They will be aligned in the same axis between your fingers. Continue threading the small 2mm faceted beads to the right length. Here we wanted to make a 40cm choker necklace. So we measured from the center of the pendant to a total stringing of 20cm. Now we'll make the knot to attach the clasp. This is a tricky step, as we mustn't overtighten the threading so that it remains supple, taking care not to leave too much space. We've got a tip for you! How do you tie a well-positioned knot on a pearl necklace? First make a simple knot on the clasp, then pull on the thread to bring the clasp to the edge of the pearls. Insert a needle into the thread, between the clasp and the pearls, and make the 2nd knot. Tighten the knot, then remove the needle. Tighten the knot again. Then repeat all the above steps in symmetry for the other side of the necklace. At the end of the threading, place a 5cm piece of extension chain. Before cutting any protruding wires, place a small dab of glue on all the knots. This will secure the knots. Once the glue is completely dry, you can now cut the wires at the edges of the knots. And there you have it! Beautiful creation! |
