Here we've made a necklace 55 cm long, but you can adapt it to any length you like. To do so, you'll need to lengthen either the pearl stringing or the chain. First, we'll prepare the 2 chains at the top of the necklace. To begin, cut 2 pieces of small diamond link chain, each 20cm long. Open the oval rings, place the extension chain on one chain and the clasp on the other. Close the rings securely. Stringing beads: Start by connecting the silk thread to one of the chains. Thread a squeeze bead onto the thread, then pass the needle through the last link of the chain before threading back through the squeeze bead. Tie a double knot at the edge of the crush bead, then bring the crush bead back over the knot. Flatten the bead. Thread the gold and moonstone beads onto the silk thread to form a 15 cm strand. Place the gold beads randomly for a more bohemian effect. To finish threading, place a crush bead on the thread, pass through the chain link and then through the crush bead again. Pull on the thread, keeping it supple. Your threading should remain fluid and you shouldn't create any tension between the beads. Tie the double knot, then bring the bead to be crushed over the knot before crushing it. Trim off excess thread. Open a 4 mm ring to connect the horn pendant, then close the ring on the beaded chain at the desired point. Quartz crystal pendant: Thread the brass wire through the bead, then wrap it 3/4 turns around the bead. Pass one end of the wire through the "wire turns", then do the same with the other end. Bring the wires to the top of the bead. Make a loop on one of the wires, then connect the loop to the bead threading. Then wrap the wire around the edge of the loop for one turn. Then bring the other thread to the edge of the loop and make 3/4 turns. Trim off any excess thread. And there you have it! Beautiful creation! |
