To begin, measure the size of the necklace you want to make. Here we've made a 40cm necklace with an extra 3cm of extension chain to make it easier to adjust. Measure the number of Lapis Lazuli beads on the side of the necklace and the central part with the seed beads and drops. Here are the measurements of our necklace: 17.5cm Lapis Lazuli beads + 0.5mm seed beads + 3cm drops interspersed with a seed bead + 0.5mm seed beads and 17.5cm Lapis Lazuli beads. The clasp and knots will add about 1cm + 3cm of extension chain. Take the silk thread and knot it on the clasp ring. Tie several knots to secure the thread. Cut the thread, leaving 1mm, then place a small dot of glue on the knot to prevent it from unravelling. Start stringing the beads according to the measurements... Thread the extension chain, then tie knots at the edge of the last bead. Be careful to place the collar in a curved position, keeping it flexible. Don't thread too tightly, but keep it supple. This will make it more comfortable to wear and prevent the thread from breaking. Finally, trim off the excess thread and place a small dot of glue on the knot.
