At the bottom of the explanations below, you'll find a short, schematic video showing the assembly steps. To begin with, if you'd like to discover and learn the technique of Brickstitch on brackets, take a look at this tutorial which starts in the same way, with a first row of delicate miyuki beads woven around the edge of the bracket. Click on this link: Miyuki pearl flower earrings This bead border will act as a hook for the other beads, allowing you to mount the other beads easily. For this version, first weave 10 Miyuki delica 11/0 beads around the edge of the stand. Cut a wire approximately 60cm long, and assemble the beads, keeping a starting wire of approximately 15cm. Once the beads are mounted, take the starting wire and tuck it into the beads to stop it. Cut flush. Take up the weaving thread, thread a mother-of-pearl drop bead and a cube bead. Thread through the mother-of-pearl bead, then prick the needle into the 2nd Miyuki bead, delicately edging it. The cube bead will block the mother-of-pearl bead, so tighten the thread as you weave! Insert the needle into the 3rd bead, then thread a mother-of-pearl bead and a cube bead again. Continue until you've assembled 5 mother-of-pearl beads. Now thread the needle through the last mother-of-pearl bead and the cube bead. This will create the last bead border and join the mother-of-pearl beads together. Thread a gold rondelle, a Bohemian bead and a rondelle. Insert the next cube bead and continue the assembly. Once the last row has been completed, work your way up through the mother-of-pearl and Miyuki beads. Secure the thread by looping it through the beads of the first row. Cut the wire flush. Make the second loop in the same way... Your jewelry is finished! Beautiful creation! |
