Guide to good practices for maintaining your jewelry

Guide to good practices for maintaining your jewelry

Few items are imperishable and last over time. Your jewelry, regardless of the price or composition, will live with you and therefore show signs of time. This is completely normal and does not call into question the quality.

Here are some tips to keep them in the best condition for as long as possible.

  • Remember to remove your jewelry before washing, bathing, or applying beauty products (creams, perfumes, etc.). This will help maintain the plating and prevent damage to the gemstones. Rest assured, Perles Corner's premium metals are of very good quality and can withstand occasional contact with water.
  • Avoid chemicals. Contrary to what you might think, washing dishes or swimming in chlorinated water isn't good for metals and stones.
  • Remember to store your jewelry properly. When you are not wearing it, we advise you to store your jewelry in a case, a suede pouch, a zip-lock bag, and especially not in a humid room like the bathroom.
  • Clean your jewelry with soapy water. Avoid chemicals or toothpaste, which could be too harsh on the metals and stones. Regular maintenance, once a month, is sufficient. Remember to dry them well afterwards.

In conclusion, your jewelry, like all things, are objects that need attention and respect so that you can enjoy them for as long as possible. With these few tips, they should be with you for years to come!
