To begin, cut a 10cm brass wire.

Cut 2 pieces of chain approx. 5cm long.

Thread the drop bead and cross the wires at the top of the drop.

Twist one of the 2 wires onto the other for 2 turns, then trim the excess flush. If necessary, flatten the cut with flat-nose pliers.

Now take a pair of round-nosed pliers and form a small loop with the remaining wire.

Insert the chain before completing the assembly.

Secure the loop with flat-nose pliers, then wind the wire between the tip of the drop and the loop for several turns. Make as many turns as you like, as this dresses up the top of the bead and adds a pretty finish!

Trim off any excess thread.

Finally, gently spiral open the ring at the bottom of the earring towards the side. Insert the chain and close the ring. Be careful to open the ring just enough for the link to pass through, as this could weaken the fastener or even break the ring.

Repeat all steps to make the other earring.

And that's it! Your creation is complete.
