To begin, choose your beads, play with the different shades, the effects (smooth or faceted), the sizes, the shapes... Here we took a strand of Tourmaline donut beads for the side and back of the necklace. For the front we used Garnet, Labradorite, Amethyst beads, gold metal beads, Strawberry Quartz mounted beads and a Garnet drop-cut stone. For the threading, use Griffin silk thread, very strong, flexible when assembled for a comfortable necklace to wear. It is already mounted with a needle for easy threading! Tie the end of the thread to the clasp, making several knots to secure the assembly. Keep a small piece of thread to pass through the first beads at the end of the assembly. Thread a metal bead into which you can slide/hide the knot. Start stringing the beads... Here we have made a central part (mix of beads with the drop) which measures approximately 12cm. For a 40cm necklace you will therefore string 14cm of Tourmaline beads. Once the first beads are threaded, begin the central assembly. Alternate metal beads with natural stones of different sizes, shapes, and colors. In the center, mount the drop pearl then start again in symmetry. Finally, cut 3cm of extension chain, thread a metal bead and the extension chain. Place the assembly on the table, taking care not to leave any space between the beads but maintaining a loose thread.Do not lay the string in a straight line, as this may create tension between the beads when the necklace returns to its normal curved shape. Insert a pin into the wire at the edge of the metal bead. Now tie the knots around the pin to ensure the knots are in the correct position. Remove the pin at the last moment. Pass the needle back through the metal bead and 4/5 beads. Trim the excess thread. Finally, thread the starting thread through a beading needle and pass through a few beads before cutting the thread flush. Your jewelry is finished! Beautiful creation! |
