To begin, cut the chain to the length of your choice, here we've taken a 38cm chain. Pin the chain to a board or cork mat... this will make assembly easier! Then cut a nylon thread about 1 metre long and thread the needle. Tie a series of knots on the 3rd link of the chain, making sure the knots are tight. Now it's time to mount the beads. String 9 beads, then count 5 links and thread the needle through the 6th. The curve of beads forms... Thread 9 beads of a different colour again, then count 5 links and thread the needle through the 6th link. Continue in this way until you reach the end of the chain. If you wish, you can replace the seed beads in the centre with small mother-of-pearl beads. Finally, connect the extension chain and the clasp to the ends of the chain using 3mm rings. And voilà! Beautiful creation! |
