Watch the video tutorial at the bottom of the page! To begin with, choose your beads and don't be afraid to play with different shades. You can opt for a harmony of similar colours or play with contrasts. As for the sizes, have fun - here we've chosen 11/0 seed beads. This adds contrast and lets you have even more fun with colours! To begin, cut a thread about 1m50 long (2m if you are making long fringes).
Make sure you use a sufficiently long thread, as you won't be able to make any connections.
Then thread the needle onto the thread.
Start assembling the first row using brick stitch directly on the backing.
To do this, thread a pearl and then pass the needle through the earring holder before passing it back through the pearl. This will position it on the edge of the holder. Do the same for the other beads. In all, you should have 7 beads.
Now assemble the beads fringes.
You can follow the grid above or create your own design with the colours of your choice. Be careful not to pull too hard on the thread - the fringes should remain supple and flowing for a beautiful finish! And voilà! A great achievement! |
