Pearl Earrings & Wire Wrapping Jewellery Tutorial

Fall for our new earrings made from beads decorated with a coiled brass wire.

This is the perfect opportunity to try your hand at the wrapping technique, which consists of wrapping a brass wire around a pearl. It's not very complicated to do and allows you to personalise your creations even more!

You will need :
2 stud earring holders, 24K gold-plated mother-of-pearl beads flower pendants Gilded with 24K fine gold 0.7mm flexible brass wire Gilded with 24K fine gold

This jewel is not complicated to make. Watch the video below and follow the assembly instructions.

Assembly:

To begin, cut a piece of brass wire about 15cm long.

At one end of the thread, form a simple loop with the round-ended pliers. Try to make a small, discreet loop.

Next, thread the flower pendant through the loop. Hold the loop in place with flat-nose pliers and, using another pair of pliers, wrap the thread around the edge of the loop for 2 turns. Trim the excess thread flush and flatten the thread with flat pliers to prevent any ends sticking out.

Thread the bead onto the wire and make a single loop at the top of the bead.

Place the earring in the loop you've created and hold it in place with a pair of pliers.

With your other hand, wind the wire in a spiral, first just below the loop and then down around the pearl. To secure the wire, make 2 turns at the bottom of the pearl.

Trim the excess flush and flatten the thread with pliers.

With this method you can create a clean spiral or increase the number of turns on the bead!
