Here are the instructions for using this technique. You can adapt it to make a necklace or bracelet. To do this, adjust the length of your thread.
For a bracelet, cut 3 threads about 50cm long (be sure to cut wide enough, as you won't be able to connect them).
For a necklace, cut 3 threads about 1m long.
To begin, cut 3 threads (adapt the size to your project). Thread the 3 threads through the clasp, then tie 2 tight knots at the edge of the clasp. Trim the excess threads to within 1mm of the knot, then gently burn the threads to secure the knot. The threads will melt so you can glue them to the knot. String the beads of your choice in the desired order onto one of the threads. Mix shapes, sizes and materials, don't try to be regular, vary the beads randomly to give a nice harmonious effect. Stringing the beads on the thread can be a long process and the thread can fray, so don't hesitate to re-cut the thread from time to time. Now start braiding with the 3 threads. At the desired points, incorporate a pearl into the braid. It's easy: slide the pearl in when the beads thread is towards the outside of the braid, bring the pearl back to the edge of the braid and continue braiding. To finish, place the extension chain or clasp fastener and tie a double knot. Trim the excess and burn the thread. Your jewellery is finished! Beautiful creation! |
